Therapy for Anxious Jews

We provide therapy for Jews in different chapters of life, united by a common thread: the emotional inheritance we carry and the longing to feel grounded in a world that often feels unsteady.

There’s often a shared inner monologue:

  • Am I doing enough?

  • Am I safe?

  • Do I belong?

Help for Anxious Jews offers virtual, weekly therapy for Jewish adults in MA, MI, FL, and IA—whether you're deeply observant, culturally connected, or spiritually unsure.

If you feel overwhelmed by the weight of the world, the ache of ancestral trauma, and the pressure to keep it all together, we’re here to help you.

Sad on Couch

Therapy That Gets It

Your space for the sighs, the spirals, and the “Oy vey iz mir!” moments. (Translation: the holy ‘Oh my’ of Jewish overwhelm.)

This is your space for identity questions, the inherited grief, and yes—some dry, Jewish humor to carry us through.

We’ll help you find language for the swirl of thoughts and emotions that don’t always feel “rational” (newsflash: you’re not supposed to be unbothered by injustice or intergenerational trauma).

We won’t ask you if you’ve tried going to synagogue more.

We will offer grounded, smart, research-backed therapy—delivered by someone who gets it.

  • You don’t have to explain what a shiva is or why you might feel conflicted to take time off from work for the high holidays.

  • Or why your mother is overbearing.

  • Or why this week’s news cycle feels personal.

We help you make meaning, manage your mind, and feel more steady—even when the world doesn’t.

If you're looking for therapy that’s warm, thoughtful, and deeply attuned to what it means to be a Jew in this world—we might be a good fit.

Who We Work With

NOTE: While we serve Jews across the spectrum (and on the spectrum), therapy is currently only available to residents of Michigan, Massachusetts, Iowa, and Florida.

A Jew-ish Therapy Space for
All of You

Imagine falling asleep without doomscrolling.

Saying no without guilt.

Feeling calmer.

We’ll work with evidence-based tools like:

🧠 Parts Work (Internal Family Systems)

Get to know your inner shtetl: the worriers, the complainers, the fixers (looking at you, Yenta!), and the protectors—the nosher, the shopper, the workaholic, and more. We'll help you understand these parts and help them (gently) calm the heck down.

👁 EMDR & Trauma-Informed Approaches

For the hard stuff that stuck around too long, like schmaltz in a cold fridge. Whether it’s family dynamics, work stress, or old wounds that keep replaying in your brain, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can help you clear out the gunk—kind of like scraping wax off your menorah after eight nights of drama.

🕯 Mindfulness & Somatic Practices

Think: nervous system regulation meets sacred pause -- shomer Shabbos not required. Learn ways to calm the inner critic and worriers.

🔁 ERP for OCD & Health Anxiety

Because Googling it again and kvetching won’t help. But exposure therapy can.

Helping you reclaim your Jewish story & your life.

By the end of our time together, you'll have a toolkit for handling spirals, more self-compassion, a sense of ease in your own body, and a deep knowing that you’re not alone.”
