Getting Started
What to Expect in Jewish Therapy
What can I expect during my first appointment?
The first session is a 90-minute intake where we get to know each other, explore your goals, and begin mapping out your healing journey. There’s no pressure—we go at your pace.
How long will I need to be in therapy?
It depends. Some clients feel relief in 8–24 sessions. Others stay longer to work through deeper trauma. We'll check in regularly to make sure therapy continues to feel meaningful, relevant, and supportive for you.
What methods do you use to treat Jewish anxiety?
We use a range of trauma-informed approaches to treat Jewish anxiety, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and somatic therapies. These methods help you process painful experiences, build a sense of safety in your body, and reconnect with grounded presence and joy. In our groups, we also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and elements of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients manage intense emotions, strengthen coping skills, and feel more rooted and supported.
Do you only work with anxious Jews?
Not at all. We work with Jewish individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and more. Our work is always trauma-informed and culturally aware, with special attention to how systemic and societal factors impact Jewish wellbeing.
What if I need to reach my therapist after hours?
If you’re in crisis, please call 911, go to your nearest ER, or contact the suicide hotline at 988. Our team does not provide emergency services. For non-urgent matters, please email us—we aim to respond within 2 business days.

• 55-minute therapy session: $275
Clients must be physically located in Massachusetts, Michigan, Florida, or Iowa for therapy sessions.
Payment is due on the day of your session. While we do not accept insurance, we provide invoices that you can submit for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many clients also use HSA or FSA funds for services.
In accordance with the No Surprises Act, all clients receive a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges, which is available in writing and can be discussed at any time.
What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel, please do so at least 48 hours before your appointment. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee.
That said—we know life happens. Each client receives one free missed appointment pass per year for those unavoidable emergencies. (This does not apply to pre-paid workshops or groups.)
What is a Good Faith Estimate?
The Good Faith Estimate is part of the federal No Surprises Act. It ensures transparency in healthcare costs for those paying out of pocket. You’ll receive a clear breakdown of service fees before your first session—no surprise charges, ever.
Jewish Ancestral Trauma & Healing
What are the long-term effects of ancestral Jewish trauma?
Jewish trauma—both personal and ancestral—can manifest as chronic anxiety, shame, hypervigilance, or a sense of disconnection.
The science of epigenetics—pioneered in part by Jewish researcher Dr. Rachel Yehuda—has shown, for example, that children of Holocaust survivors can experience symptoms of PTSD, even if they were born and raised far from where the trauma occurred.
Therapy can help you name, understand, and begin to heal these inherited burdens.

Can you heal from ancestral trauma?
Yes.
Healing is absolutely possible.
You don’t have to carry everything alone.
With the right support, you can release pain,
reconnect with safety and self-trust
—and yes, even reclaim a life filled with ease, joy,
and pleasure (including fantastic, connected sex).
